We are in the season of Saints, Souls, and Soldiers — a sacred time to remember those who have gone before us in faith, love, and sacrifice.
On November 11, our community gathered in the Chapel of St. James-the-Less at St. James Cemetery for a moving Remembrance Day Service of reflection, gratitude, and hope.
Together, with the Cabbagetown BIA, we paused in prayerful remembrance of all who have served and sacrificed in the cause of peace and freedom.
The morning included readings, bagpiper and trumpeter, wreath laying, and two minutes of silence at 11:00am, followed by a guided tour of veteran graves and an opportunity to place poppies at the graves of the many fallen war heroes that are in our care.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us — your presence, prayers, and fellowship created a sacred space of unity, compassion, and gratitude. We also give thanks to God for the courage, devotion, and selfless service of those who have defended peace, and we hold in our hearts the families who continue to carry their legacy.
Together, we honour the soldiers and personnel — past and present — who have made and continue to make sacrifices in the pursuit of peace.
May their memory inspire us to live with gratitude and to be instruments of peace in our world.
